Studienrat Schlenz. Cli. H. Tea. (1926.) ...watch out - - as you get the hang of it, it may fascinate you, as it did this writer when he first saw it listed years ago, in Frank Lester's catalogue. Our parent plant grows tall, under an apple tree in the front garden, and all summer long, its large, satin, pale-pink blooms, with that crisp starched look, smile down at us through the apple foliage.

New Roses 1928.   Studienrat Schlenz (HT.  P. Lambert, 1926) A seedling from ‘Mrs. A. Ward’ x 'Frau Karl Druschki’, with strong upright growth. Very free and continuous in bloom.  Buds long and opening to very large and full flowers.  Colour bright silvery rose with dark rose shading, suffused yellow. Sweetly scented. Very beautiful and a valuable new rose.
Climber. Not flowered with us yet.

Studienrat Schlenz Hybrid Tea. (Peter Lambert, 1926.) Type, 'Climbing Mme. Caroline Testout'. Bud very large, long-pointed. Flower very large, double, cupped, lasting, moderately fragrant, rose-pink, reverse pink, borne singly and several together on long strong stem; drop off cleanly. Foliage dark green, glossy, disease-resistant. Growth very vigorous (6 1/2 to 8 feet), trailing, bushy. Blooms for six weeks in June and July. Hardy.
