Does anybody know the history of this plant and how it came to be known as Général Labutère? (The photos are reminding me of "Camnethan Cherry Red")

A mysterious case: There is no French family name like Labutère, Labulatière, la Bulatière, Labutène, therefore also no such General. The rose 'Général Labutère' first appears in Graveraux' collection between 1900 and 1902. I am afraid he was rich and undiscerning, amassing all roses he could get his hand on. I think someone must have cheated him with this China, adding an unusual name. We might eventually find out it is something out of the Cramoisi Supérieur group.

So, if someone renamed the rose in 1902, we can ignore General Lab, and keep our eyes open for other possibilities for “Camnethan Cherry Red”. Thanks Jedmar.
