Introduced in Australia by H. Kemp in 1909 as 'Gloire de Chédane-Guinoisseau'.

Bloom:
Vermilion-Red.  Moderate fragrance.  40 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Very large, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  Long buds.  
Habit:
Tall, armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  

Height: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
