The authoritative Rosas de España, 1957, by Joaquin Martinez Friera regards 'Condesa de Benahavis' as 'the perfect rose' (page 111) and by implication Eugenio Fojo's best. Friera describes the Countess as owning the best of the gardens Fojo had designed for patrons in Asturias.
