The Final Analysis. 1970-71 Season.
Lady Sunshine. (syn. 'Mary Poppins'). 5.1. Less and less growers have retained this and this season's ratings were all CD and D. The blooms are magnificent and well shaped but is three a year enough? And that was a good year. Unfortunately the growth did not match the blooms. Could this have been incompatibility with the stock?

Mary Poppins has given her name to this beautiful, gay yellow rose.  The flower is large and double and the petals are tidy and closely packed.  They are a pale, gleaming yellow that stands out against the dark shiny foliage.

'Mary Poppins' (syn. Lady Sunshine).  Belgium, 1969, Lens;  'Belle Etoile x ('Michele Meilland' x 'Tawny Gold').  Golden yellow pointed buds, 28 petals, opening to full, well-shaped flowers; scented too, a rare quality among yellows;  growth vigorous, upright; foliage glosdsy, dark green.  A large exhibition rose of good habit and growth.
