Ralph Moore  made a cross 'Mark Sullivan' x 'Golden Moss'. Now 'Mark Sullivan' was an unhealthy Hybrid Tea  from  Charles Mallerin, who  called it 'President Chausse'.  Moore's cross was  successful to the extent of producing a mossy Hybrid Tea;  nothing great, but encouraging. Something unqiue among Moss roses: a compact bush that is repeat flowering. In addition the blooms are yellow, an unusual color for Moss Roses. 'Gold Moss' produces nicely mossed buds that open into medium sized, double blooms of a pleasing shade of clear yellow. The flowers are very fragrant. Its foliage is light green and leathery. Vigorous. Ideal for all size of gardens. 3 1/2 ft. Repeat blooming. (1972)
