Hello HMF friends,

In my research for our family 150th jubileebook, I cme across an article on: Toreador (I quote): T.H. 1936. Etoile de Hollande x K.ofK. Big, very beautiful, well-filled, bloodred rose with brownish, almost thornless leafves. A gorgeous rose.

Alas, I have no time to dig into it deeply, but just wanted to share this with you. If anything worthwhile for our jubilee book will pop up...I'd be eager to learn from you.

Jacques

I have no clue, as HMF states a non-Verschuren breeder. The article I found describes a visit to my grandfather's nursery and in it Toreador and other roses (with their parents) are mentioned. I hesitate to consider them all to be Verschuren-bred roses. I have not come across any other sources for Toreador in liteature, but, as said, my present priority is our jubileebook
