Bred by Louis Lens (1924-2001) (Belgium, 1982).
Introduced in Belgium by Lens Roses/Louis Lens N.V./Pépinières Louis Lens SA in 1984 as 'Verdi'.
Class:
Hybrid Musk, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Pink, lilac shading, lighter center.  Mild fragrance.  12 to 16 petals.  Average diameter 1.25".  Small, semi-double to double, in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Arching.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: 32" to 39" (80 to 100cm).  Width: up to 28" (up to 70cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Composer Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (Joseph Fortunin François Verdi; baptized Joseph Fortuninus Franciscus). Born 10 October 1813 at Le Roncole, in the Duchy of Parma. Died 27 January 1901 in Milan, Italy.
