I am trying to find the rose Francois Poisson, rambler, for a garden restoration of an Ellen Biddle Shipman garden from 1940. I have been unable to obtain anything on this rose but a description. Does anyone have a lead on it? Thank you for any help you might offer. JMH

Hi,
we have the Rose 'François Poisson' here in Italy, at Cavriglia - Roseto Fineschi.
This Barbier's rambler is very similar to the much more common 'Albéric Barbier', but a little more "yellow" in bud and flowers have less packed petals.

Dear Maurizio, Thank you for your reply to my inquiry. I have indeed substituted Alberic Barbier for Francois Poisson, but have not given up hope of finding Francois. I am very excited to hear that you have this rose. Is there a way I could obtain a slip from you? Also, I would like to hear more about Cavriglia-Roseto Fineschi. Thank you for your time. Hello Joyce,

I am really glad that Maurizio rose your interest on Roseto Botanico "Carla Fineschi". You can have an idea of what this garden is and means for "rose addicts", by reading what Paul Zimmerman wrote http://www.ashdownlibrary.com/Library/Gardens/Fineschi.htm

I think that USA sanitary roles prevent a free exchange of cuttings with Europe

Hello Bob,
I was told that Ashdown Roses sells Francois Poisson! I think you can call Paul Zimmerman and ask for it. I am glad that this beautiful rose arrived to the USA.
