1. [Milwaukee, Wisconsin] (7.6) Vigorous, upright, short to medium plant with large dark green foliage. Very fragrant. Blooms fairly rapid with good color and substance.
II [Baltimore, Ohio] (6.8) Medium upright, with abundant large dark green foliage. Large intermittent bloom holds color well. Fragrant. susceptible to blackspot and mildew.
III [Los Angeles, California] (8.9) Doing well in most places. Blooms profusely, good form and substance and long lasting.

Proof of the Pudding. 'High Esteem'. Reports 360. Average National Rating 6.7....According to reports on performance of this much publicized plant it is no doubt properly rated at 6.7. It is an upright plant lacking vigor and must be protected against mildew and freeze-back. The flowers have good form, hold color well, are fragrant, but we could use more of them.

The plant has strong, upright canes with light green foliage very susceptible to mildew and needs winter protection. it is not a free bloomer, has good form and fragrance. Some take it to the show.

Nearly all agree on three factors: "Loves mildew, is fragrant and not worth $10.00". Not too vigorous, grows upright with gray-green foliage. A silvery pink with fair form, sparse bloomer and needs winter protection.
