'Anci Bohmova'   Breeder: Found by Jan Bohm, 1929, Czechoslovakia (former).   Parentage: 'Marietta Silva Tarouca' sport.  Class: hybrid multiflora.  The flowers are deep pink fading a little lighter.  This distinguishes them from their lighter and more pastel sport parent.

'Marietta Silva Tarouca'..... There seem to be two varieties described under this name. This one, an impostor, is commercially available and is commonly grown in gardens of Western Europe and the United States. It has clusters of small, single to barely semi-double flowers that open deep pink with a white eye and fade gradually to white. This variety is  repeat-blooming. The plant needs frequent dead heading to remain attractive. It is hardy and will reach about 10 feet (3 meters) in height. The original variety, which is still grown at Pruhonice Park in the Czech Republic and is much more beautiful, has pink, medium to large, double flowers in large clusters that are once-blooming. I am unable to provide a photograph of the correct variety, but the photograph of the sport of this rose,'Anci Bohmova', which is posted with the accompanying text entry in this book is very helpful. The colour of the sport is darker than the parent, but the forms of the flower and the plant are the same.
