Vigoureux et presque inerme, ce rosier d’environ 1m en tous sens croule sous les fleurs en juin-juillet. En principe remontant, il ne refleurit que si bon lui semble. Une taille sévère lui assurera un maintient digne de sa noble marraine, fille de François Joseph 1er, empereur d’Autriche et roi de Hongrie. Moreau et Robert, France, 1881.

In color, a rosy carmine, somewhat unique and very pleasant to look upon. The plant is strong and wide-spreading, and is especially adapted for planting where space is not a consideration. A characteristic of this Rose is that the foliage is rarely attacked by insects or blight, and holds its rich hues of green against adversities that would conquer some varieties. Undoubtedly one of the most substantial Roses.
