Peter Beales:  ....R. Arvensis produced an interesting little group of about six or seven very important hybrids, one of which is a rose that we have recently acquired and introduced under the name Janet Wood.  The reason for this name is that in one of my books I said we were looking for the original double Ayrshire rose, and I had this variety sent to me by the lady after whom it is named.  We believe it to be the original double white Ayrshire rose of great importance in the development of the climbing rose.
