Origin:

Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, 1934).
Introduced in United States by Wyant (Melvin E. Wyant, Rose Specialist) in 1935 as 'Sentinel'.

Class:

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Cherry-red, silver(y) reverse. Strong fragrance. Average diameter 4". Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.

Habit:

Upright. Glossy foliage.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
