Made it through the first winter 5b near Syracuse, NY with little die-back, about 6" above the ground are regrowing matched the snow line. Is up front near the road with no other protection with a cornfield (no windbreak) to the north.
Edit: Still doing well, Aumer of 2019. Is one of the most "upright" growing, all flowers at the top of each stem. Very distinct round leaves distinguish it from Olivia Rose, etc. It has topped out at about 3.5' in height

I tried to upload four photos to HMF. I completed all information required for each upload, added the photo etc. and then clicked on upload. The dialog box went blank and now, more than 30 minutes later, when I check HMF none of my photos were uploaded. Is there a size limit for photos that are uploaded?

I have been advised that pixel size of around 1200 by 1200 and no larger than 4 megabytes works well.

Many thanks Patricia for your prompt response. I subsequently had success when I uploaded a single photo of Queen of Sweden, however, I didn't re-size it to upload. in future I will know to limit the pixel size when exporting from iPhoto.

Queen of Sweden is best in partial shade. It always blooms, except in hot weather above 90 F. It doesn't throw octopus canes like other Austins, but the bloom shatters and lasts one day in the vase. Regardless of what David Austin catalog says, this is NOT meant for cut-flower. The bush is low-thorn and wider-spaced than Golden Celebration. Very disease resistant, healthy foliage & compact & upright bush makes it easy to sniff the blooms, nice myrrh scent. I think of Q. of Sweden as my "smiling rose", always have a cheerful bloom. It was slow the 1st year, then always blooming the 2nd year.
