'Shady Lady'. MEIcaso. Cluster-Flowered. This rose has been credited to an Australian amateur gardener by some writers, but Meilland also claims it. In itself it is not all that startling, with sprays of small, scentless flowers in carmine with white in the centre, but it has the almost unique character of being able to grow and flower well in shade. Deane Ross, Meilland's agent in Adelaide, proves the point with a bed sited beneath a willow tree. That was where the picture was taken. Foliage is bright green. it was introduced in 1987. Parentage unknown. Repeat flowering.
