Origin:

Bred by Jean-Baptiste Croibier (France, 1910).
Introduced in Australia by Arthur Yates & Co. Ltd. in 1912 as 'Madame Jules Bouché'.

Class:

Found Rose, Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

White, cream center, blush shading.. Sometimes with pale pink center. Moderate, tea, violets fragrance. up to 34 petals. Large, full (26-40 petals), classic hybrid tea, high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Pointed buds.

Habit:

Tall, armed with thorns / prickles, upright. Medium, medium green foliage.

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to Mildew. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

["Marie's White" was rescued from the rubbish tip by a neighbour of nurserywoman Natalee Kuser, Bridgetown, Western Australia, sometime before 2001. It is now in the Tea/Noisette/China collection at Renmark, SA as it had shown some tea influence. Green tints in the bud have been seen.]
