This is a label mix up between two roses : Harriet Shepherd and Charlotte Kemp.
There is NO Harriet Kemp. The rose pictured here is probably Harriet Shepherd.
This listing should be deleted.

Thank you Mr. Rose Pirate.
We've deleted 'Charlotte Kemp' and put the photo in the 'Harriet Shepherd' file.

By way of a thank you, I offer you this early Australian poem by Mabel Forrest:

I was a Pirate once,
A blustering fellow with scarlet sash,
A ready cutlass and language rash;
From a ship with a rum-filled water-tank
I made the enemy walk the plank;
I marooned a man on an island bare,
And seized his wife by her long, dark hair;
Took treasure, such heaps of it!—wealth untold—
Bright bars of silver and chunks of gold!
Till my ship was choked to the decks with pelf,
And no one dare touch it except myself
And my black flag waved to the tearing breeze,
And I was the terror of all the seas!

I noticed that the rose "Harriet Shepherd does not have a picture or information. Trinity Roses in New Zealand is selling that rose and has a good picture on their web site. It is from the breeder Ken Nobbs who has died and he was one of the founders of Heritage Roses New Zealand. The new owner of Trinity is Karen Piercy and if you contact her she should be able to help out with the picture and her information on Ken. Regards, Barbara
