FIAMINETTA NABONNAND Tea-Nabonnand
White, slightly tinted with rosy carmine, texture like satin. This is the much be-lauded white "Papa Gontier"' before its introduction -so long delayed, and at such an absurd price-to the public, more was said and written in its favor than of any other variety for years past. Quite unworthy, in my judgment, of the encomium lavished on it by the producer. Globular, not very full, petals limp, soon looses its form by exposure to sun. Bad habit and weakly constitution, lacks altogether the superb vigour and growth of its parent "Papa Gontier," neither does it inherit his beautiful filbert shaped buds or long and strong flower-stalks.
Book  (1898)  Page(s) Supp. 6.

Fiametta Nabonnand [Nabonnand, 1874] (Syn. : Papa Gonthier et Baronne M. de Tornaco [1896].

NB: the introduction date for 'Fiametta Nabonnand' was 1894, not 1874, and the synonym given by others is 'Papa Gontier à fleurs blanches'; the equation with 'Baronne de Tornaco' might be accurate; they were similar in appearance and reported lineage, but it was fashionable in the 1890's to call similar-looking roses synonymous, whether they were or not...
