I just bought this rose. I don't normally buy a rose I know so little about, but I took a chance because it was the healthiest-looking of all the potted roses currently in my local OSH store. Most of the others had mildew, and a rose with a lot of mildew was right next to this one and touching it, yet this one looked totally free of disease -- which I assumed was a good sign with regard to its disease resistance. It was also putting out more new growth than most of the others, which I assumed was a good sign regarding its vigor.
Anyone else who grows this rose, I'd love to hear about your experience with it.
JULY 2010 ~SSC~ is currently in Full Bloom & on sale for $17 at OSH. The shape of the plant is similar to ~ICEBERG~ including the floppiness of the rose, as it ages. Blooms are a 'popsicle pink' with gold stamens! very nice scent too!
SWEET SAN CARLOS is one that OSH stores bought to commerate their first Orchard Supply Store, 75 yrs ago in San Carlos , CALIF. It has small blooms of white with a cerise-pink edging. Very cute! It seemed to have a lot of blooms on it.
