Summer 2023. This is now one of my favorite roses ever. Until I got it, I thought this pale pink would be boring. I thought I didn't like ruffled roses, and I thought the US name was hideous. It won me over. The smell is amazing, it bloomed faithfully flush after flush, and even stood up to rain quite well! I will never be without this rose as long as I have a garden.

Summer 2023. Huge, pink, and ruffly. Best scent of any rose in my garden.

Photo from Spring 2022 Zone 6 NJ I have a love hate relationship with this rose. The first year (bare root Edmunds) it did well. Nice big blooms. Then it dropped its leaves so I pruned it hard and it grew back great and bloomed again. Despite a mild winter there were a lot of dead branches I had to prune out. It did not flower well then dropped its leaves again so I decided not to prune it. I guess I should have pruned it hard again as it did not respond well and barely grew. It's very naked now unlike the photos I've shared from last year. Last year it had great ruffly blooms and fragrance. Fingers crossed for next year.

Summer 2023. This is a body bag from Walmart, which I potted up, and bloomed its heart out all winter. All my potted roses died over the winter, so I just bought two more. The new ones will go in the ground so I can be sure they survive.
