[Extract from the rose catalogue of Marie Henriette Gräfin Chotek, October 1929] Further roses from Geschwinds estate This year I am again introducing some park roses and a climber of the old master into commerce... Trompeter von Säckingen A cultivar which was already in commerce during the lifetime of Geschwind, but has now completely disappeared. I believe the society rosarium in Sangerhausen has still plants of this variety, but otherwise hardly anybody. I saw her the first time at Geschwind himself and was enthusiastic. Approx. 1 1/2-2 meter high bush, nice regular habit, healthy black-green foliage, blooms very double, large, purple-scarlet-red velvet, with black-red reflexes. Park rose of first rank.
