Bred by Samuel Davidson McGredy III (United Kingdom, before 1928).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Samuel McGredy and Son, Nurserymen (Northern Ireland) in 1930 as 'McGredy's Scarlet'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1931 as 'McGredy's Scarlet'.

Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, crimson outer petals, orange undertones. Cerise red. Long petals, decorative.  Moderate, tea fragrance.  28 to 35 petals.  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, exhibition bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to rust .
