Bred by Julien-ALEXANDRE Hardy (France, 1836).
Introduced in France by Péan-Sylvain in 1837 as 'Duchesse d'Orléans'.

Bloom:
Buff, light pink shading, pink center.  Large, very double, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, glandular sepals, leafy sepals buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Glossy foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
