I'm hoping this is the appropriate "Solero" for this rose. There seem to be about 5 roses with this same name and it's hard to tell which is which. When I bought this it was marked "Fairest Cape", which is apparently the name this was sold for here in Australia, when it was first released (in around 2008), but then they apparently changed it to Solero, and there is another Kordes rose going by "Fairest Cape" now (the one that flowers more like a floribunda and is more of an orange colour).
Treloars Roses (the Australian source of Kordes roses) have both "Solero" and "Fairest Cape" listed for sale and the photo and description they give for Solero matches this rose I have here. They do have it's original name listed as "Kortifhar", though, which is what the ones they sell as "Fairest Cape" are all listed under on this site here, so that adds to the confusion. Another rose source here in Australia has this rose for sale (the photo and description matches mine) and they have it's official PBR name listed as "KORakaesci (treloars)", citing Treloar as the source of that name, so I figure that is the correct PBR name for the rose I have (and that the PBR name for it on Treloars website is a mistake), as this one has no photo's or anything here on HMF, while the ones listed under the name Kortifhar, are the orange ones sold here in Australia as "Fairest "Cape".
I came across a few bushes of what turned out to be "Fairest Cape" (the orange flowered one) for sale at a local nursery recently and they were all listed as "Fairest Cape", but at least one of them had a photo of this rose I have (the one that's sold here as "Solero"), on the tag, with a description of Solero on the back (saying that it's a classic HT shape with a strong fragrance, which Fairest Cape is not), so that just helps to add to the confusion. Someone will have probably bought that bush expecting an apricot/yellow, high centred, slow opening, fragrant HT and will have instead gotten a floribunda type orange, non-fragrant rose. Not ideal. The way I was able to tell that the ones they had for sale (which I would love to have bought, if they were Solero, as they were super strong and vigorous looking) was that the leaves on them were pretty dark green and the leaves on my Solero are a relatively light green colour and the new growth isn't red. So I knew they were the ones Treloar sell as "Fairest Cape", even though at least one of them had a photo and description of the rose Treloars sell as "Solero", on the tag.

Anyway, whichever one is the appropriate place for photo's and so on of the rose I have called "Solero", it is a really terrific rose, in my 12 months or so experience with it. Like most Kordes HT's, it's really well formed and holds that form for days and days, on either the bush, or in the vase. Unlike most slow opening roses, though, this one has a really terrific fragrance, which is especially strong when it's nice and warm. I first saw it at a Rankins Roses open day and had no idea what rose it was, but really liked the form of one that was in flower. I wasn't really at all interested in getting a rose of this colour, though, but then I bent over to have a smell of it, just in case it smelled good and was hit with this strong fragrance. I loved it, so I bought one. I've had no regrets since, except that when I went back a couple of weeks later they had sold out of them, as I would have liked to have gotten another one, which I only do for roses that are really outstanding.

If you like roses like Apricot Nectar, or Spirit Of Peace, I expect you'll love this rose.
