Every year, I let my friend do a few crosses, and I germinate them for him. So this year I germinated a ton of Midnight Blue x Rose Gilardi. I have never used either, even though I have had Rose Gilardi since the 90s. Its very prickly. What amazed me was how few prickles there were among every seedling. It definitely does not pass on its prickles, or its mossing, readily. However, I have a few Shadow Dancer crosses, which is related to Rose Gilardi. The one I kept, which is [Dortmund x (Carefree Marvel x Shadow Dancer)] is interesting, beyond its amazing health. It has.... "non-prickles". Like it is rough to the touch, but they are not prickles. And the buds and stem ends give off cinnamon-scented resin. The same smell as 'Scarlet Moss'.

I've not seen prickliness being passed on either. Only my 'Splash of Color' is prickly. No mossing passed on yet either. Your [Dortmond x (Carefree Marvel x Shadow Dancer)] sounds really interesting. I like that the buds and stem give off cinnamon scent. Is there any mossing at all? What does the bloom look like?

My application to register this miniature rose as Strawberry Cream has been approved but there is floribunda rose on here with the same name so I'm unable to add my approved registered name on my own. Could someone add Strawberry Cream as a registered name for this plant? Thank you in advance.

When a plant name is already in use we make the name unique by including the variety and breeder's name. We have done so for you.
