This rose is very, very tolerant of shade in my garden in Italy. Vigorous, too.

It is very thorny, a real prickly horror.

I guess that says it all. I have marked the rose page that this rose is "armed with thorns / prickles" to let those thinking of buying the plant for their garden know what they are getting.

Thank you for the heads-up.

Smiles,
Lyn

Hi,

I dont think, Narrow Water is a sport of Nastarana. It should be diploid then. But pollinating with diploid/triploid roses so far did not produce viable seeds (the used pollen works fine on definite di/triploids), whereas seeds from pollination with Applejack germinate well. From the heritage, I suspect Applejack to be tetraploid. The hip pollinated with R. spinosissima produced a seedling as well. I'll go on with my experiments this season.
