Information on this rose is quite sparse here in the comment section, so I'll give a bit more detail.

Avon is a half sibling of Mister Lincoln, both sharing Chrysler Imperial as a parent, and they do share certain traits. Avon grows to around 5 feet tall, with flowers that are a slightly darker red colour than Mister Lincoln, and while the perfume is strong, it doesn't have the potency that ML does; to my nose, ML's perfume has an intense, pungent smell a lot like a red ice block dipped in honey, while Avon smells like a sweet tea drink that is a little more subdued that ML. The bloom forms a star shape when fully opened, and personally I like this form much more than ML.

Avon is also quite a tough rose much like ML; this was the first rose I ever bought, and subsequently made all my mistakes on while learning how to look after roses, and it's not only still alive, but thriving. One of the major positives of Avon is that it's shade tolerant; I've consistently kept it in areas (it's in a pot) that gets on average 4 hours a day at the most, yet it is still able to flush lovely red flowers (although I do live in a warm part of the country where the sun is quite strong). It's a good option if you want to put a rose in a place that doesn't get full sun.

Here are some negatives - being a red rose, it has thorns. Lots of them. It is very prone to Black Spot. Having said that, it's quite a vigorous rose which makes simply picking off the diseased leaves a simple fix as it grows new foliage very quickly. The flowers take a beating from heat and humidity, lasting only 3 or 4 days at the most in Summer; they hold up much better in Spring and Autumn. Hybrid Tea roses have a tendency to defoliate, and Avon is no exception to this.

Overall, the Avon is an often overlooked red rose variety in comparison to the superstars like Mister Lincoln or Papa Meilland, but it's a reliable performer that produces very pretty flowers, and is also able to take a bit of punishment.
