Bloom: Pink.  Single (4-8 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.   
Growing: USDA zone 2b through 8b.  Very hardy.   
Breeder's notes: A selection of the Rosa laxa Retz. which I brought from Semipalatinsk, west Siberia, in 1913. 
Patents: Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind). 
Notes: Direct descendants of this plant have been growing at the former USDA High Plains Grasslands Research Station (now Cheyenne Botanic Gardens) since 1937. They are diploid, according to a root tip squash performed by David Zlesak on March 27, 2010. |
