This has deeper yellow flowers and the plant has less vigor, but both are derived from the Indian form of R. Gigantea. Viru had started seedlings from his Gigantea in the garden, this was obviously a chance pollination, possibly Reve d'or as there are several close by.

Yes, it seems Reve d'or is likely the pollen parent.

Beautiful!, Much more yellow than I would have thought. It definitely looks like a hybrid. Reve D'or?

Flowers are very large and double, reminescent of 'Maréchal Niel' in color and shape of buds. Full open flowers are flat, with a good Tea scent. The original plant came from Viru Viraraghavan, and was sent to Mrs Brichet as Rosa gigantea.
