Introduced in France by Descemet in before 1811 as 'La plus belle'.
Introduced in France by Sommesson in 1811 as 'Duchesse de Reggio'.
Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in 1819 as 'Fanny Bias'.
Class:
Gallica / Provins, Hybrid Gallica.  
Bloom:
Light pink, lighter edges.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, large, double (17-25 petals), full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, button-eye bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  Medium green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
'Gloire de France' and 'Fanny Bias' are different roses, despite newer References to the contrary. DNA analysis has shown that 'Fanny Bias' is closely related to 'Duc de Bordeaux' in commerce. - see References.
Commercialised as 'Athalie' by Pépinières Baltet. Distinct from the Gallica 'Athalie' by Vibert - see.
