Saw that at Menards as bare-root (on Dr. Huey) for less than $5 .. was really tempted to get it, but I have very few full-sun locations left. I made a large bed this spring for 10 more roses, but it's in 5 hours of morning sun, NOT enough for hybrid tea.

I"m actually hoping that the sun will bleach them out a bit so haven't tested them in the shade. They're really dark lipstick pink here!

Perfume Delight doesn't like acidic rain. In late fall I saw that in a pot, next to Kordes Laguna. After many days of rain, Kordes Laguna was 100% healthy & tons of blooms. Perfume Delight had very dark-green foliage, full of blackpots, zero blooms during that week-long rain.
Intrigue is another one with dark-green foliage, was 100% healthy with many buds in hot & dry August, in a dinky pot (completely dry) at Walmart. That store has tap-water at pH near 9. At local rose park, Intrigue was 100% healthy with tons of blooms in dry summer, but looked horrible with blackspots & 1/2 size in a wet spring. The dark-green foliage can't handle acidic rain (pH 4.5) in my Chicagoland.

This bush grows really well in subtropical climates. In Brisbane it churns out flowers almost all year long- in small clusters to each stem. It is about 1.5 m high and would hedge. It gets occasional black spot but doesn't succumb. The scent is divine - only a little less than papa Meilland and Mr Lincoln, but similarly evocative of Turkish delight. The blooms are upright. The lipstick pink fades in the heat to an Austin pink. It has a florist rose look to it, but the blooms look less angular and more ruffled as they age. This bush grew happily through a ten year drought and flowered on rain water only. This is a strong rose bush that doesn't get octopus tentacles.

It does very well in Perth as well. A strong, generous, easy care rose and one of the last to defoliate in winter. No complaints about this rose at all! Beautiful blooms, attractive, healthy foliage, gorgeous fragrance, it is an excellent garden specimen and an excellent cut flower.

I purchased Perfum Delight & Fragrant Cloud last season as potted plants. Fragrant cloud has taken off, spreading like a weed, but Perfum Delight is dissapointing, had to cut off three canes when it broke dormancy, it is a black spot and powedery mildew magnet, its everywhere even on the cane itself. We have been getting loads of rain, so mostly all of them have black spot but not like Perfum delight, i will wait to see what it does this summer, if it doesnt do any better i will shovel it and replace it with Voluptuous

Can this rose be a climber? It fits the description in every other way. Help! Hopefully it can enter a rose show next week.
