This plant is a climber in Southern California. Think Scentimental on steroids and you'll have this plant. Canes can be 15 feet long.

Does it bloom well or just @ the tips of the long canes? Strong fragrance?

Just at the tips of long canes. Never noticed any fragrance from it. Fourth of July is MUCH better choice in this genre.

Yes, I have Fourth of July and agree that it deserves its rep..You always give the best advice. Gracias.
Scentimental, Ferdinand Pichard, Julio Inglesias, Pinstripe and Purple Tiger are my other favorite striped roses. There is also a stellar climbing mini but I no longer have it and can't remember the name.

A couple of others I would recommend are Purple Splash and Hurdy Gurdy.

Yeah again, Hurdy Gurdy was the mini climber I forgot the name of.
Purple Splash has definitely caught my eye in pix but have not seen it live, Thanks for the endorsement.

Should be "stripes", not strips. Might have been my mistyping!
