A List of Fifty of the Best Inexpensive Varieties
White Varieties
Monsieur Dupont (Calot).  8.3.  White.  This is one of the old standard peonies that can always be recommended.  The flower is a glistening ivory white, with center petals bordered with carmine.  Golden stamens are mingled with the petals throughout the flower.  It is deliciously fragrant.  It is wonderfully prolific, and an annual bloomer.  It comes into bloom just before Couronne d’Or.  It is one of the very best white peonies.
The plant is very tall.  The flowers large, and almost perfectly round open out cup shaped and give a very desirable landscape effect.
