Registration name: Prince Noir (hybrid perpetual, Boyau, 1854)

Bred by Joseph Boyau père / Boyeau (France, 1854).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Prince Noir'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  

Dark purple, lighter shading, crimson outer petals.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium, semi-double to double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  

Upright, well-branched.  

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.
