Origin:
Bred by Mille-Mallet (France, 1860).
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Violet, lighter center.  Strong fragrance.  50 to 75 petals.  Average diameter 4.25".  Very large, very full (41+ petals), cupped, quartered, reflexed bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Arching.  

Height: 4' to 8' (120 to 245cm).  Width: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Shade tolerant.  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Feed this rose well.  Requires good cultivation if it is to perform its best.

Meg Peterson says this rose will do well in a partially shaded location.
