Origin:

Bred by Joseph Pernet-Ducher (France, 1887).
Introduced in France by Pernet-Ducher, Joseph in 1892 as 'Beauté Inconstante'.
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1897 as 'Beauté Inconstante'.

Class:

Found Rose, Bermuda Rose, Noisette, Tea.

Bloom:

Orange-red, carmine-red highlights, yellow shading. [Red.]. Variable red. Reddish copper. sometimes flushed or streaked yellow. Pedicels glandular. Receptacle has glands usually on lower half only.. Strong fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Tall, upright.

Height: 4'11" to 9'10" (150 to 300cm). Width: up to 16'5" (up to 500cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Parentage:

seedling of Earl of Eldon × Madame Falcot

Notes:

Cross between an unreleased seedling bred by Mme Ducher (probably from Earl of Eldon) and Mme Falcot.

Seems to show yellow tones in spring, and deep red in summer.
