New and Rare Plants
At the Royal Horticultural Society's Show on September 6...[t]wo gladioli and a China Rose received awards of merit.
Rose Dresden China.—A very free-flowering China Rose of exceptionally good size and shape and of pleasing delicate fragrance. It appears to be a fairly dwarf variety and the flowers are borne in large flattish clusters. The colour of the outer petals is a deep cardinal red—quite a sunburnt red—and this contrasts well with the delicate blush pink of the centre. Award of merit to Mr. George Paul.
