Like many minis out of Santa Claus, it gets downy really badly on select years. Smoke Rings, All A Twitter, Teeny Bopper, Whimsy, and Coffee Bean are those from Santa Claus that I noted to get downy on certain years. The others descended from it have not, in my personal experience.

Smoke Rings is a really cool mini. It's quite round and blooms well. Color is very neat. It's a good rose for climates not overly wet, I imagine.

2011 is my first season with this one. I love the color overall. I have noticed that it loses the colored edge in high heat. There is excellent repeat bloom and it seems to be continuously in bloom. Best of all the leaves are disease free in my garden...not a spot to be seen. For the breeders this one will set hips both OP and from foreign pollen. It seems to be a good plant to use as a pollen donor as well. Update: The plant was disease free until September when black spot showed up. It was clean all summer and I can live with disease resistant until the end of the season.
