Tally Ho: Very good sturdy bush. If it has a fault, it does not produce enough blooms.

Tally Ho: An easy, upright grower, its well-formed blooms carried on long stems are up to exhibition standard. It varies from a two-toned old-rose to a distinct bi-colour of rose with a crimson reverse. There is a pleasing spicy perfume.

Tally-Ho (H.T.). A very fragrant, beautifully bicoloured bloom of a two-toned deep raspberry, or strawberry pink; a shade rather difficult to describe.  The inside of the petals is a delightful shade of rose, whilst the reverse varies from crimson to cardinal red.  We feel sure its colour will appeal to the majority.  We really had "tried out" this variety - one bush and one standard - during 1950 in the garden of a friend close by, noting its strong growth, prolific blooming habit, and resistance to disease. Borne on a long, straight, but thorny stem, our first beautiful ovoid bud cut on December 15 opened slowly its 61 petals reflexing naturally. Framed in strong, attractive-looking foliage, the high-centred fully double flower was of exceptionally good substance and exquisite shape. With age, its colour became lighter in a pleasing manner. Its excellent holding properties, along with all its other fine qualities, should make it desirable for exhibition, as well as for home purposes. This bush made vigorous growth, tall and upright, with a number of basal breaks which seems to be a feature of the rose. Unfortunately, two new growths which we did not stake were broken by the wind and, therefore we lost several blooms plus part of next season's tree. However, from observations made in 1950, this variety will not suffer unduly from a mishap such as this.

Tally Ho  HT. (Swim, 1948) This has been termed a bicolor, but on its performance here over a period of eighteen months does not justify the term. Two toned would be a much better description. This is another border line case between red and pink. The buds, show crimson or cardinal red which open and disclose an inner face of tyrian rose or phlox pink. The fragrant blooms are of good shape with a high centre and are produced on long stems. The fact that 'Tally Ho' won the coveted A.A.R.S. honour for 1949 is sufficient guarantee of its high quality.

Tally-Ho  (one plant, one year). Is already five feet high and over three feet across in any direction.  It gives its flowers freely and they are of a new shade of pink, really a bicolour.  it approaches the colours of Peggy Bell and Betty Uprichard more than any other roses I know. I would like the blooms to be built a little more solidly, and that may come with maturity of the plant.  Our American friends are very lavish with their praise of this rose.
