Sometimes, as seen here, the petal reverses are strikingly white-washed. This is not a typical look. More often there is only slight whitening or just a hint of lightness.

There were many buds but this was the only un-fried bloom today. Temperatures have been in in mid to high 30s (around 100F) for the past week.
