I was at the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland, California this weekend, and it appears that the spot surrounding The Doctor's sign has been taken over by some sort of prickly species rose.

Or else some bright spark moved the rose labels.

The blooms on The Doctor are relatively simple and loose, but they are very large. The color is a strong medium pink with a yellow at the very base.
I planted a gallon from Roses Unlimited 9/10, so far I've had no trouble with health, etc. I'm happy with the plant so far! It seems to grow and bloom well in my inland southern california garden. (zone 9b, SW18).
The fragrance is indeed strong and beautiful, perhaps it's best feature is the fragrance!
