Gerard Williams. Final Analysis 1998-99
'Tinkerbell' SUNtink Schuurman 1992; 'White Dream' X 'Evelien'; pink; 28 reports on 32 plants; 1-5 years; 78cms; 7.6 rating: After wonderful initial reviews the reports have tempered off a little. The pink exhibition blooms are large, in fact one or two exhibitors consider they are too large for the Shows. The blooms are somewhat similar to 'Little Opal' but 'Tinkerbell' has not quite gained the popularity of the former. The bushes are reported as being strong and healthy with slowish repeat. The bush has nice glossy leaves and the flowers keep well in water. A reporter from Hutt Valley considers it does well at the front of a border. If you like your Minis big you should enjoy this rose.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1997-98 Season.
'Tinkerbell' (SUNtink); Schuurman 1992; 'White Dream' x 'Evelien'; pink; 9 reports on 9 plants; 1-4 years; 90 cms; 7.5 rating. Has not reached the height of popularity that 'Little Opal' has enjoyed although they are similar in many ways, perhaps too much so. Bay of Plenty says it is too large for showing, big soft pink blooms, slow repeat, healthy. Wellington finds the rain marks it. Hutt Valley reports a soft salmon pink, good exhibition form, healthy glossy leaves, keeps well, excellent at front of border. It has not performed well for a reporter from Southland, similarly Kaitaia in a pot.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1996-97 Season.
'Tinkerbell' (SUNtink); Schuurman 1992; 'White Dream' x 'Evelien'; pink; 3 reports on 4 plants; 2-4 years; 70 cms; 7.7 (interim) rating. Only three reports this year, which is strange as it is quite similar to 'Little Opal' which is so popular with everyone - perhaps it is too much like it. Otago thinks its shape is superior to 'Little Opal', free flowering. North Harbour and Auckland both find it very healthy, lovely in the garden and flowers freely. Should be better known and grown.

'Tinkerbell' (SUNtink); Schuurman 1992; 'White Dream' x 'Evelien'; pink; 6 reports on 7 plants; 1-2 years; 65cms; 8.1 rating. A few more reports this year and all are complimentary. It is a patio rose not unlike 'Litt]e Opal', a Marlborough grower considers the flowers are too large, downy mildew a problem and is not keen. Wellington report says it is good in a pot, but not so planted in the ground, slow to bloom. Hutt Valley says too much like 'Little Opal' and the blooms large. Most enthusiasm shown from a Nelson grower who considers it an absolute must, says the shape and colour is different from 'Little Opal', healthy and makes good large and small stems. We will await with interest.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1994-95 Season.
'Tinkerbell' (SUNtink); Schuurman 1992; pink; 6 reports on 6 plants; 1-2 years; 65cms; 7.8 rating. A few more reports this year and all are complimentary. It is a patio rose not unlike 'Little Opal', a Marlborough grower feels we are getting too many look alikes in this colour range. Wellington finds it attractive with glossy foliage and some perfume. Nelson extols the clusters of frilly pink blooms growing in a tub. Not grown widely yet.

'Tinkerbell' (SUNtink); Schuurman 1992; pink; 6 reports on 10 plants; 1-2 years; 60cms; 7.7 rating.
First time reports on this patio rose are mostly favourable. An Auckland grower says it is vigorous with large dark green glossy foliage the size of large roses. Flowers borne in clusters, many petals and looks great on the bush. Hutt Valley reports delicate pink colour, wavy petal edges and centre cupped, and there is some perfume. Marlborough reports pretty colour, slow repeat of flowers and healthy. A Waikato grower is still unsure - finds it flowers well, but weak necks and also blackspot.
