p30. Ruth Knopf. Rediscovering the Old Noisettes.
Another "found" Old Noisette is "Tutta's Mountain Cabin Noisette". A noisette of simplest form, its dainty blooms are much like 'Champneys' Pink Cluster' but are a little smaller in size. My sister found it growing in the yard of her old stone farmhouse, which was located along the small scenic Highway #11 in the south Carolina foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, overlooking Glassy Rock Mountain and ancient apple orchards.

p43. Gregg Lowery: "Tutta's Mountain Cabin Noisette". Found in South Carolina, USA, by Tutta Mood, circa 1985.
Ruth Knopf's sister Tutta Mood found this growing at a small mountain cabin she purchased in the 1980s in South Carolina. Another rose growing nearby turned out to be a form of 'Blush Noisette', but this plant was unique. Rose pink flowers turn blush with age. Blooming in generous broad clusters, they are small, semidouble and loose. In my Sebastopol, California garden, "Tutta's Mountain Cabin Noisette" is among the most prolific of bloomers. It has a preference for filtered shade, but even the hottest days fail to wilt the delicate petals.
