I concur with John on this rose. Blooms were very small and plant was a black spot mess. I gave this away after trying to get some decent blooms for two years.

I purchased a Masquerade HT rose from Palatine Roses in Canada last year. It grew vigorously and soon had four huge straight canes growing virtually straight up. I was worried as I saw very little is any lateral growth at all and that usually means very few flowers and that is exactly what I got in it's first year--very few blooms. The blooms I did get were small and nondescript pink but with lots of substance so they lasted a long time. That is why the florists liked this rose I was sure. This year it flew through winter with no added protection and has really put on the lateral foliage that has led to many more blooms and they are very heavy with substance. However, the blooms have not increased at all in size and the heavy substance of the petals gives them a waxy unpleasant look. The form is very poor as it is flat and has no discernable center. There is no fragrance. Actually, after four years of growing, I finally shovel pruned this rose as the blooms continue to be some of the ugliest roses I have ever seen. I wouldn't recommend this rose to anyone for any reason. John
