This is an excellent lavender miniature rose that has fragrance; as long as it gets some fungicide as it’s coming out of dormancy (Zone 8B) it has very little issues with disease. My plant was an own root from Burlington Nursery. For my plant I’ve noticed the bluer lavender hues are best in cooler weather (in heat they go white or more lilac (pink toned). Occasionally some of the older blooms do take on a more tan color. Sweet Arlene and Moonlight Scentsation are some other lavender mini/mini floras I grow that are also great companions or alternatives to Winter Magic.

Hardiness should be changes to at least zone 5a. I have grown several bushes for about 5 years never used protection on this one and had almost nothing in winter kill. Very nice mini.

This rose is such a delight in the garden. Her kiss of lavender coloration and wonderful rich fragrance are truly a joy. She loves to bloom as well. My rosebush is about two feet tall by at least that in width. Very hardy here in Colorado.

Deb and I have been looking for Winter Magic at local nurseries and asking them about it because of your photos and reports. We appreciate hearing how roses perform.

Hi Dave and Deb. I saw it on the list of one of the on-line nurseries just the other day. I visit several of them from time to time, now I need to remember which one it was again so I can tell you!
