'Prof. Alfred Dufour' rose Reviews & Comments

According to FG Cazzaniga's own notebook: Obtention date 1961; parentage Paprika x Coup de Foudre. The same page gives 1960 for Tiziana and 1962 for Nerone, whose parents are given as Chrysler Imperial x Haway (ie, I suppose, Boerner's Hawaii)

Thank you!
This is very much what HelpMeFind is about; a mutable resource collecting the knowledge of the rose community all over the world.

Hello, I search where I can buy some plants of rose Prof. Alfred Dufour? I'm his nephew and we will install them in a "historical familial garden" in Geneva, at the "Maison Dufour" (House of the Gen. GH Dufour).

I very much doubt that this rose is currently available. Regrettably the Cazzaniga family does not maintain an "archive nursery". I suggest you write to Vivai Cazzaniga, Via della Repubblica 21, 20090 Vimodrone, MI, Italy to check.

Hello, Thank you for your message. I will write like you suggest to Vivai Cazzaniga. Do you think that the Mioprio gardens have some Prof. Alfred Dufour plants? I will search in Geneva too: In the "Roseraie de la Ville de Genève" (I have seen some Prof Alfred Dufour roses some years ago) and in the "Centre horticole de Lullier". Best regards

Another way to try out: The nursery "De Bierkreek" in the Netherlands has a good connection and contact to the Garden in Italy, that grows this rose: Carla Fineschi Foundation Rose Garden http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=3.9861 And they might get the permission to propagate this rose for You. You might find "De Bierkreek" in the left column under Commercial and the "nurseries" button. Good luck with Your search.

I think Jay-Jay's suggestion is good. Minoprio might have the rose - the breeder's eldest son taught there for some time - but I don't think they're equipped to supply cuttings. Still, it's worth trying.
