This rose was used in two published studies. One of them is:
Zlesak, Thill, and Anderson 2005 Trifluralin-mediated polyploidization of Rosa chinensis minima (Sims) Voss seedlings Euphytica 141: 281–290
Open pollinated seedlings of it were used for chromosome doubling.
The other paper is to study the transmission of horizontal black spot resistance. It was used as a parent and found to transmit resistance pretty readily.
Whitaker and Hokanson 2009 Partial resistance to black spot disease in diploid and tetraploid roses: general combining ability and implications for breeding and selection Euphytica 169:421–429

What a nice rose, David. The foliage is very interesting--looks as if cut out by pinking shears.;) It also reminds me a bit of the leaves on lemon balm. The flower form and all the sprays are quite attractive too. Does it have any fragrance?

Hi Melissa,
It does have a little fragrance. I especially like that it is near thornless and blooms a lot.
