This rose will not allow you to ignore it. The plant just keeps making more and more and more perfect pale yellow blooms that even get a slightly pink blush at times. The flowers have so many petals that it never seems to open all the way. It takes up to a month or more for a flower to go from newly open to spent, which means that the bush literally gets buried in blooms.

I had the pleasure of growing a Yantai tree. That was the most beautiful tree rose that I have ever seen in my life, and I have been growing roses since 1972 in my own private gardens. I hated to leave the tree rose behind, when I sold my house. Take a look at my photos of that tree head, if you want a reason to drool.

By the way, did I tell you that this is also a very disease resistant plant. Yes, this rose just keeps getting better and better. It should be on everyone's shopping list.

I am begging Greenheart/Nor'East to make this rose available as a tree again. I WANT ANOTHER YANTAI TREE! If you want one too, start bugging Bill DeVore of Greenheart to make trees of Yantai available soon. (I am being so bad! Sorry, Bill. Hee Hee!)

The Yantai bush we got in 2005 has impressed the heck out of me. I agree, Yantai refuses to be ignored.

Yantai got planted in May of 2005. It was one of 16 we got that spring. Yantai hit the ground running and hasn't looked back. It blooms more than any new mini I have seen. The bush is much bigger than I expected. White Chocolate, Sweet Arlene and X-Rated were planted behind with Yantai and Love ya Dad in front. I can't even get to WC because Yantai is so large. That section of the garden gets the most comments from visitors so it isn't too bad. Excellent mini! Yantai came through its first winter like a champ too.
