The parentage of Gloire des Lawrantias (Miellez <1838) is given as
Rosa indica pumila flore simplici (Syn Miss Lawrance's Rose) 1768 which was a single white.
I wonder if the parentage should be
Rosa indica subtaxon pumila Redouté & Thory. (Syn Pumila (Lawrencia, Colvill, 1806) which is a light pink double.

Also, it may be that the 1936 Rosenlexikon reference in quoting
R. semperfl. Lawr. X ? - intended:

Rosa chinensis var. semperflorens (Curtis) Koehne (syn Slaters Crimson China) intro in 1789 - and not
Rosa semperflorens minima synonym 1768 (syn Rosa indica pumila flore simplici (Syn Miss Lawrance's Rose)

(Other chinas bred by Miellez were:
Anémone rose (China, Miellez before 1828)
Philippe 1er (china, Miellez, pre 1832)
Camellia Rouge (China 1835 [?] )
Gloire des Lawrantias( Miellez <1838)

I think Jäger intended 'Miss Lawrance's Rose', which he lists in his catalogue. However, it is unknown from where he has the information that 'Gloire des Lawrantias' is a seedling of this. It could be that the synonyms need some sortiung out. Otto lists about 40 Lawrentias in his 1858 "Der Rosenzüchter"	REPLY

Thanks Jedmar. That would be a job and a half. I am afraid I am unable to help further, but I have added Brent Dickerson’s sources to the 1999 reference, and they would be of interest if anyone has access to them.	REPLY

Thank you once again John. This is most interesting and I have added this reference to 'Gloire des Lawrencianas' and also to 'Oakington Ruby' - as well as to the Notes for "Ebenezer Cemetery Miniature China".	REPLY
